Favourite Family Restaurants
Nov 7th, 2009 by admin

A friend of mine asked if I could put up a post for Family Restaurants, I thought this could be a good place to add your favourite place to take the kids.

I’ll kick start with mine and hope this inspires you to share those gems!!  Not sure we need to add the fast food outlets here.

Allegro Pizza - 9383 1347

Cnr Stirling Hwy & Walter St, Claremont

The best gourmet pizza is served here, the menu is full of all your italian favourites and the decor is very kitsch and family friendly!  They sell fresh pizza dough for make your own pizzas at home too.

Amber Jacks Fish & Chips - 9385 0977

Cnr John St & (94) Marine Parade, Cottesloe

A firm favourite and a place we always take our overseas guests to.  Setting up on the grassy banks overlooking Cottesloe beach, eating fish & chips while watching the sun go down…..

(TIP: ring ahead and order, then you’ll miss those horrible queues in summer)

Clancy’s Fish Pub - 9335 1351

51 Cantonment St, Fremantle

The atmosphere is always great here and it’s one of those few places you can go where they have got the mix of a bar and a family friendly restaurant working side by side.  Of course the huge field outside is ideal for the kids to run a muck while you sit sipping a cool drink, while keeping a watchful eye.  The food is also great and they have a children’s menu, however mine like to trough on the platters.   They also appreciate the colourful home-made play dough that sells at the cash till.

Hans Cafe -9383 1787

8 Quentin Ave, Claremont

Easy Asian cooking at it’s freshest.  My kids love the noodles and squid.

FlipSide Burger Bar

239 Queen Victoria St, Fremantle - 9433 2188

294 Cambridge St, Wembley – 9287 2288

Fabulous little cafe style burger joint, specialising in different types of burger using the freshest of ingredients. They do a mini flip that’s ideal for the kids.  Very tasty and freshly cooked in front of you.  Use the link to check out their menu.

Mad Lillies - 9284 3744

1 Eric St, Cottesloe

This great little burger cafe is located next to the backpackers, it’s light and airy and as it’s a little off of the beaten track, there always seems to be a table free.

All wholesome healthy food using fresh natural ingredients. Grilled lean, premium 98% fat free meat, skinless free-range chicken breast fillets and fish.

Buns, slices, biscuits, muesli, muffins and cakes are freshly baked and contain no artificial flavouring or colouring. All burgers are served in a freshly baked bun: white or multi-grain.

Free Family Fun Night @ Salt on the Beach - 9430 6866

44 Port Beach Rd (Cnr Tydeman), North Fremantle

Thurs & Fri

5.30 – 7.30 pm

Ages 2 – 12 year olds

At Salt on the Beach we welcome families with children. Our venue has a special area set aside for kids and we provide entertainment by “Parties Kids Remember”.  All care is given to create a controlled, fun atmosphere where the children can have fun  before and after their meals

FREE!  Thurs & Friday Night Kids Activities & Entertainment

Zamia Cafe - 9388 6700

This is another firm favourite, the views over Synergy Parkland from the decking are stunning and the kids can run around while they’re waiting for their food.  Zamia is renowned for the freshness and variety of its food and this is a result of all menu items being prepared and cooked on site. The Cafe also provides a large range of cakes, coffees, ice-creams, cold drinks and take-away foods.

TIP: Book a table before you go as it gets very busy on nice days.  Get onto the balcony area rather than the outside, side tables.
